Sterling Hospital organises marathon

PUNE: To spread awareness about cancer, Sterling Multispeciality Hospital and Research Centre in Nigdi organised a marathon to mark the World Cancer Day on February 4.

The marathon was held to create awareness about how and why cancer spreads, early diagnosis, symptoms, vaccines and treatment. 

Dr Rakesh Neve, Senior Onco Consultant and Cancer Surgeon at Sterling Multispeciality Hospital, who was also the chief organiser of the marathon, said, “The marathon was organised to encourage cancer prevention, detection and treatment. 600 participants ran the marathon from all over the city, including five completely recovered cancer patients, doctors and other professionals.”
