Nagpur: Two more cases of rape, including one of a six-year-old girl, were reported on Tuesday at Jaripatka and Nandanwan police stations. The six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour who barged into her house while she was alone on Tuesday afternoon in Jaripatka area. The accused Santosh Marskolhe, 30, entered the home while the girl’s mother was away.
According to police, the accused took the survivor, a student of Std I, into the bedroom and began molesting her. The frightened survivor started crying. Hearing her cries the neighbours, including the house owner, surrounded the house and started banging on the door. When no one opened, the neighbours broke into the house and found the accused along with survivor.

The angry neighbours badly thrashed him up by the time Jaripatka police reached the spot. They took him to police station. A case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) has been registered against him following a complaint by survivor’s mother.

In another incident, a 41-year-old teacher complained of rape by her live-in partner on the pretext of marriage between October 1, 2011, and January 7, 2019. The accused identified as Saurabh Singh, a resident of the same area, has been booked by Nandanwan police.

According to police, the survivor had come into contact with the accused nine years ago after her husband passed away. The duo got into a relationship and used to live together. A few days ago, the survivor learnt that Saurabh, a travel agent, was preparing to marry another woman. She then asked the accused to marry her but he declined and fled from the city. The survivor then approached Nandanwan police and filed a complaint.

Police are currently trying to track down the accused who is learnt to be in Allahabad (Prayagraj), UP.
