Chris Cattrall died Feb. 4, 2018 in Canada
It’s been one year since Kim Cattrall laid her younger brother to rest, but not a day passes that she doesn’t remember him.
In tribute of the one-year anniversary of her late brother Chris Cattrall’s death, Kim, 62, posted a throwback photo to Instagram on Monday.
“Thinking of Chris today and everyday. We miss you,” she captioned the image, which features the siblings. “1/2/1963 – 2/4/2018.”
Not long after she asked fans to help find Chris after he went missing in Canada, the Sex and the City star revealed in a Feb. 4, 2018 tweet that her brother had died. He was 55.
“It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall,” she wrote. “At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time.”
Alongside the message, Kim shared a photo of herself and her brother.
Chris’ cause of death wasn’t immediately made public, but he had been missing since Jan. 30, 2018, according to the actress.
In her initial post asking fans to spread the word that her family was searching for Chris, Kim wrote that her brother’s keys, cell phone and wallet were left on the table of his home in Lacombe, Alberta, in Canada. She also noted that his front door was unlocked.
“This is not like Chris,” she wrote. “He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs.”
Following his death, Canadian police were investigating. “RCMP will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death,” Royal Canadian Mounted Police Corporal Chris Warren told PEOPLE.
Warren said Chris was found on his property and the “preliminary investigation suggests that there is no foul play suspected.”
Weeks later, Kim traveled to Scotland where she honored her brother, and lit a candle in his memory.
“Thank you to St Cuthbert’s Parish Minister in Edinburgh Reverend Peter Sutton and our wonderful, joyful Scottish friends for making us laugh today,” she captioned a photo, posted Feb. 24, 2018. “Lighting a candle in memory of our brother, son, father, & husband, Christopher Adrian Alexander Cattrall. Forever in our thoughts. RIP xo.”
