House Panel Votes to Send Russia Probe Transcripts to Mueller

(Bloomberg) -- The House Intelligence Committee on voted Wednesday to send additional transcripts to Special Counsel Robert Mueller from the more than 50 interviews the panel conducted in its investigation into Russian election interference.

The decision was made in a meeting behind closed doors, and was done by voice vote, said Republican Michael Conaway of Texas, who had led the GOP-controlled investigation last session.

The committee is now controlled by Democrats, led by Adam Schiff of California.

The panel previously agreed to send Mueller the closed-door testimony of Roger Stone, a long-time confidant of President Donald Trump.

Stone has pleaded not guilty on charges including lying to Congress related to his role in efforts to learn about plans by WikiLeaks to release stolen information damaging to Democrat Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign.

He also is accused of lying to the House panel about whether he still was in possession of email and text messages he exchanged with intermediaries who communicated with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
