Murdered NRI businessman Chugurupati Jayaram’s wife Padmasri on Tuesday night demanded that the Jubilee Hills police probe the case and claimed that the victim’s niece, Shikha Chaudhary, had invaded her privacy.
Ms Padmasri arrived at the Jubilee Hills police station with family and her lawyers, and submitted a letter to the police in which she demanded that since the murder was committed the in Jubilee Hills, the investigation should be taken up by the city police and not the Andhra Pradesh police.
Speaking to the media, she said she did not know whether or not Ms Chaudhary was involved in the murder, but alleged that she had come to the victim’s house and ‘invaded her privacy’.
“She has no right. The house does not belong to her,” Ms Padmasri said.
She demanded justice and said they had been married for over 30 years.
“I am making this statement today addressing the criminals who are responsible directly. Whoever committed this doesn’t know me. Now, they are inside my home and have broken my family life, which is private, and murdered my husband. This has devastated our family,” she said.
