MUMBAI: The parent of a junior kindergarten student and the school in Mira Road filed cross non-cognisable offences with Naya Nagar police on Wednesday.
While the parent alleged that the school turned away her five-year-old son for reporting to class five minutes late on Wednesday, the school administration stated that the parents used foul and abusive language on the school
premises, in front of their child and other students, parents and staff.
The school principal told TOI that the parent was told to take his son home on Monday for coming late to school.
The school starts at 8.30am. The child’s mother said her son was late by only five minutes, well within the grace period, but was still turned away. The boy attended class on Tuesday but he was not allowed to attend school till his parents apologised on Wednesday.
The parent filed an NC under sections 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code. The school later filed a counter NC. The parent told TOI that the security guard abused them and refused to allow them to meet the principal. The principal said students coming late are sent home to instil a sense of discipline in them.
