BENGALURU: A day before Karnataka governor Vajubhai R Vala’s address to the joint session of the legislature, the BJP on Tuesday handed a breather to chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, saying it won’t bring a notrust motion against the coalition government.
But that doesn’t mean the path for the government is free of hurdles. Sources said the BJP, at its legislature party meeting on Tuesday, reportedly decided to scuttle the government’s speech by raising questions about the coalition government’s stability.
For the Congress, worry lines grew deeper as the suspense on whether “missing” rebel MLAs would attend the session continued. Attendance is crucial for the coalition since it is expected to make or mar BJP’s efforts to topple the government.
The Congress was confident that Kumaraswamy will present the budget on Friday. Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara said BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa was desperate to become CM, but he won’t succeed in his efforts.
