Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Tuesday presented an award of ₹1 lakh to K.R. Rakshana of Rameswarapatti village in Karur district on the occasion of the National Girl Child Day.
The Chief Minister presented a cheque and a citation to Ms. Rakshana for donating money to plant thousands of saplings in Karur district, encouraging more than 100 persons to donate their eyes and creating awareness among the public on global warming, among others, a release said.
The Chief Minister also introduced an app developed by TAFE to help connect farmers and those who want to rent farm equipments.
A toll-free number 1800-420-0100 was introduced to provide information on the same.
