Guard held for sexual assault on five-year-old

Representative image PUNE: The Hadapsar police arrested a security guard (40) for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in a building around 5pm on Monday.
The girl’s father is also a security guard. The suspect is their neighbour.
Senior inspector Sunil Tambe of the Hadapsar police station said, “The guard lured the girl to the terrace with biscuits and sexually assaulted her. He beat her up when she resisted his moves.”
He said, “The guard later escorted her to her residence but she alerted the neighbours who contacted the police.”
The girl has been referred to a government hospital for a medical check. The report is awaited. “We have arrested the suspect on charges of committing an offence of rape under the IPC among other charges of the POCSO Act,” he added.
