MacGyver has found someone new to watch over its title hero, following George Eads' departure from the show.

Actress Levy Tran has joined the cast of the CBS action drama as Desiree Nguyen, aka Desi, a new Phoenix Foundation operative who will be on protection detail for MacGyver (Lucas Till) now that Jack Dalton has said his goodbyes to the team. Per Deadline, she will first appear on the series' Feb. 15 episode as a recurring character, and if the show is renewed for a fourth season, she could potentially return as a series regular and and possibly co-lead the whole shebang.

Tran may look familiar to fans of Showtime's Shameless, as she starred in the series' eighth season as Eddie, the rad biker chick who was pals with Lip. She also appeared in Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House as Trish Park, the oh-so-patient love interest of Theo.

George Eads' final episode aired on Feb. 1, when Jack Dalton departed for an open-ended mission to track down a terrorist named Tiberius Kovacs.

MacGyver airs Fridays at 8/7c on CBS.
