Respected television journalist Sharnelle Vella was verbally abused by the elderly maniac
Natale's son, whom he had been living with in Cobram while awaiting justice, launched himself at media outside court.
He had spent the entirety of the sentence casting death stares at court reporters before losing his cool.
Natale, who draped himself in red velvet and abused television journalist Sharnelle Vella following a court appearance in November, had earlier tried to convince a court he was mentally impaired, but conceded he was fit to plead.
The court heard Natale fired two shots at the the woman as she fled for her life outside the Colebrook St brothel about 9.50am.
He then turned the shotgun on himself, blasting himself in the stomach.
Natale was arrested after pulling his car over to the side of the road as he bled out from the wound.
He pleaded guilty to stalking, reckless conduct endangering life, use of an unregistered firearm and making a threat to kill.
The court heard the Calabrian-born Natale had began visiting his victim while his wife was dying of cancer.

Domenico Natale is led to jail after being sentenced to four years in jail over a sickening attack on a sex worker
But the elderly man became infatuated with the sex worker at Brunswick's Romantics Brothel and bombarded her with texts and calls.
When she tried to cut him off, he refused to take the message and became hostile.
Natale was originally charged with attempted murder, but was dealt a lucky break when prosecutors accepted a guilty plea to the lesser charges.
The court heard he demanded sex from his victim, showing her cash and saying: 'You know what you’ve got to do.'
Supreme Court Justice Lesley Taylor said Natale felt ' disrespected' and and 'decided to take vengeance'.
'You shot at (her) because she was not with you anymore,' she said. 'Her decision to refuse your custom was a significant blow to your self esteem and made you feel indignant, rejected, and betrayed.'
CCTV footage captured from the Brunswick brothel showed Natale calmly walking from his car before taking aim at the woman.
The woman was seen ducking and running as the brick wall behind her exploded from the blast just above her head.
A second shot struck near the brothel’s entrance as the terrified woman fled for her life.
She escaped uninjured.
Natale rang the brothel after the attack telling an employee he had attacked the woman because “she doesn’t want me anymore”.
He threatened to kill himself before shooting himself in the stomach.
He was sentenced to four and a half years in jail.
