The discovery of a man's body in a stormwater drain in Alice Springs has left police stumped.
Northern Territory Police on Monday discovered the dead man in a stormwater drain along Larapinta Drive after a member of the public raised the alarm about 7.25pm.
Police have described the man's death as 'suspicious' and have established a crime scene at the remote Outback location as they continue their investigation.

'At this stage we have very little to go on in regards to when and why this man has died,' Detective Acting Superintendent Scott Manley admitted.
'Investigations are underway to determine the identity of the man and the contributing factors.'
The drain, which is partially obscured by tall grass, is not far from a popular walking and bike path and just a few hundred metres from a local school, the ABC reported.
Police have urged anyone with information about the man's identity to contact police on 131 444 or anonymously report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
