Greater Noida stadium secretary abuses colleagues, loses his job
TNN | Feb 5, 2019, 07:30 ISTGREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on Monday terminated the services of Rajesh Sharma, secretary, Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, after a video went viral in which he was seen abusing Authority officials three days ago.
The Authority has served a show-cause notice and asked him to explain why legal action, including filing of an FIR, shall not be initiated against him.
In the one-minute video shot using a mobile camera, the secretary was seen using abusive words against GNIDA officials. He also said they do “nothing” while he toiled from morning to evening.
“I’m working on off-days. Have I gone mad? Do I haveno family? When I go to the Authority, they do not respond. They have become too busy. … I know how efficient they are,” Sharma was heard saying in the video.
K K Gupta, additional CEO, GNIDA, on Monday directed orders for his removal and also issued a show-cause notice to him. The content of notice states that Sharma has breached all limits of discipline by using abusive language.
“You have violated the norms earlier too by organizing private tournaments, and coaching classes without Authority’s approval. Financial irregularities can’t be overlooked. You have acted against the contract signed with the Authority,” the letter states. The secretary was directed to hand over his charge with immediate effect and also submit a reply within seven days.
The sports complex has a cricket ground with a seating capacity of nearly 10,000 people. The complex also houses a swimming pool, shooting range, skating rink, a changing room for players, toilets, a tennis stadium, etc.
