ELSBREE STREET SHOWDOWN (Part 1): Durfee hosts Bishop Connolly tonight

FALL RIVER — Just when the boys' basketball regular season was starting to feel a little long in the tooth, along comes a pep-things-up matchup.

Durfee will host cross-street rival Bishop Connolly at 6:30 tonight on the Luke Urban Field House's Skip Karam Court.

Durfee (8-7) need two more wins to secure a Division 1 South playoff berth. Bishop Connolly (12-3) has already locked up a playoff spot and figures to be a threat in what shapes up as an up-for-grabs Division 4 South.

The teams will meet again on Monday, Feb. 18, at Bishop Connolly.
