Bhopal: Transport minister Govind Singh Rajput, said night-time bus service would be started in the state. “All necessary arrangements would be made for regional transport offices to have their own buildings, start of night-time bus service and promote transportation in rural areas.
Solution in favour of passengers would be taken out by developing coordination between private bus operators and source service,” said the minister. He was addressing a joint meeting of officials of transport department and bus operators at Academy of Administration here on Monday.
Stressing on discipline, the minister said it would be mandatory for passenger bus drivers and conductors to wear uniform.
Efforts to bring Red Bus, Ola, Uber, etc on one platform by developing a new App in the state and implement GPS-based automatic vehicle location method would be made, said Rajput.
Monitoring of vehicles would be done from Control Room. Initiatives to include chapter on traffic safety in school curriculum would be taken. Transport minister said necessary changes would be made in the existing system to provide better transport facilities to the citizens in the state as the reform process has been launched.
Initiative to communicate with private bus operators is a step in this direction. Minister said necessary changes would be made in transport policy, considering the problems of the people. He said efforts would be made for public transport management soon.
Discussion on functions of inter-city transport authority, strengthening transport administration, improvement in issue of fitness certificates to vehicles, reducing road accidents, construction of bus stands, running of Volvo buses on new routes, increase in routes of non-stop services and safety of school buses and vehicles. Transport minister directed the departmental officers to remain serious towards execution of ‘Vachan Patra’ and extend necessary services to the citizens.
