Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The menace of swine flu is increasing in the state. So far 10 deaths have been reported from across the state.The swine flu virus became active in MP as mercury plummeted.
In capital Bhopal 22 positive flu cases have been detected in just one month. Out of them 3 have succumbed to the deadly virus. In Indore also five people have died of swine flu in one month. One patient each has died in Jabalpur and Gwalior.
On Saturday, 13 swine flu samples were sent. As many as six patients tested positive for the flu. Among them five are residents of Bhopal. The district health department has sought information about other suspect cases of flu.
No camp in rural area
The health department has taken no measure to check the spread of the deadly flu in the rural areas. No campaign has been launched to make the villagers aware.
26 cases in Bhopal
The number of flu patients in Bhopal has touched 26 although only the first month of the year 2019 has passed. Last year total 35 flu cases were identified in Bhopal but this year the number of positive cases has reached 26 in just one month. CMHO NU Khan said there is virology lab in Hamidia Hospital and AIIMS for test of swine flu and treatment is being provided without delay.
Precautions
- If you are sick or have any flu-like symptoms, stay home. Do not go to school or work.
- Swine flu symptoms may mimic those of regular flu and cold symptoms.
- Swine flu is very contagious, and can spread easily by touching an infected object and then touching your face.
- A flu mask will help you avoid infection in enclosed spaces.
- Wash hands constantly to avoid swine flu. Anything you touch may be affected, so keeping hands clean will help you avoid infection.
- Touch public handles and pens as little as possible. These are loaded with germs that may carry the swine flu virus.
- Stay out of crowds as much as possible. Close proximity to other people will heighten your chances of to get swine flu.
