Message will be sent instead of alarm
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The BMC Officer app was designed to curb the slow action by the municipal corporation officials and alerted the authorities through the alarm. The app has been discontinued and officials will now be alerted through the message.
In this software, arrangement was made to alert the responsible officer in every 15 minutes until the problem was resolved. However, authorities had received numerous objections from the officials as they were not happy with the system of being alerted every 15 minutes. After this, many changes were made in accordance with the convenience of the officials before adopting the software.
In fact, the municipal corporation had prepared this app from Magnum Pvt Ltd in view of problems and complaints during the rain. It has not been adopted till now. Many changes have also been made.
Now in this app, arrangement of the alarm has been made and only the message will be sent to the officer and he will not be alarmed. This means that this app has also been converted into ordinary software. Not only this, but the corporation authorities are trying to suppress the issue.
After complaint is lodged with the Municipal Corporation, it is sent to the concerned officer immediately through three means. As soon as the complaint is lodged, the information is automatically sent through the software via SMS to the officer. After this, the call centre officer of the corporation is also called. The information about resolution of the complaint is also obtained from the complainant through the phone.
On the other hand, if the complaint is not resolved then the concerned officer will receive alarm on his mobile every 15 minutes. As soon as the problem is solved, the software closes it. It has been changed to the system of messaging.
Why officials protested
There were two ways for the officials to stop alarm from ringing in mobile. The first was to resolve the complaint and the second to switch off the phone. Actually, this software was designed in such a way that after the problem was resolved, the alarm used to stop ringing. Alarms were arranged on complaints lodged for serious issues requiring immediate relief.
Apart from the problems related to the emergency situations like falling of crumbly buildings, fire, water-logging, flood, the complaints related to streetlights, falling of trees, drinking water, dirty water supply, no cleaning, etc were also covered by the software and alarm activation system was developed for all such problems.
Also, other complaints related to the corporation were merged into this app. If any of these complaints are not resolved then continuous alarm rings were sent to the officers. Therefore, it was changed after the protest by the officials.
