A Cessna 172 aircraft on a training flight crashed in the agricultural fields at Baramati in Maharashtra on Tuesday.
The four-seater, single engine aircraft was being flown by Siddharth Titus, when it crashed at around 12 noon. The pilot, according to officials of the district collectorate suffered injuries and had been taken to a nearby hospital.
The aircraft was on a 'solo, cross country flight' as per a part of routine flying. Registered as VT-RDX, the aircraft was owned by Mumbai-based Carver Aviation, as per record of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The DGCA officials said that an officer would be visiting Baramati to probe the incident.
