Neighbour booked for raping minor for eight months
tnn | Feb 6, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: A 17-year-old girl from Kalawad Naka in Jamnagar filed a rape complaint against her neighbour with the A-Division police station late evening on Monday.
Based on the complaint, police has booked Shahrukh Siddique Panja, who is in his early 20s, for rape, criminal intimidation and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso).
According to the survivor, Panja raped her several times when she was alone at her house over a period of eight months. As a result, she became pregnant.
When the girl’s parents noticed her bulging abdomen and confronted her, the girl told them about Panja, following which a rape complaint was lodged late evening on Monday.
Police said that Panja was on the run and a manhunt has been launched to nab him.
