Lawyer held for pasting wall posters against CM
TNN | Feb 6, 2019, 00:38 ISTCoimbatore: The Pollachi east police on Tuesday arrested a 58-year-old lawyer for allegedly circulating handbills and pasting wall posters against chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami using derogatory words.
N Shanavas Khan, 58, of Spring Field Road at Jothi Nagar D Colony in Pollachi, was booked by the Pollachi east police under sections 153 of the Indian Penal Code, 7 (1) (a) Criminal Law (Amendment) Act and 4 (1) of the Tamil Nadu Open Places Disfigurement Act.
Police said Khan pasted wall posters in and around Pollachi criticizing the chief minister. Khan was produced before the judicial magistrate Court -I, Pollachi, and remanded in judicial custody. The lawyer was lodged at the Coimbatore central prison.
