State varsity schedules to be synchronized
TNN | Feb 5, 2019, 23:48 ISTThiruvananthapuram: Higher education minister K T Jaleel said in the assembly on Tuesday that from the next academic year onwards there will be a unified academic calendar for all universities. The admission process, examination schedule and declaration of results will be unified for all the universities.
“At present, various universities are coming out with results at different times which is creating difficulties for students pursuing higher studies. As per recommendations from the higher education council, the government has asked all universities to publish degree results before April 30 and results of postgraduate courses before May 30,” said the minister.
For helping the students who want to pursue higher studies, all the universities have been asked to recognize the certificates of all courses of the respective universities of the state. Hence there will be no need for equivalency certificate. At present, Kerala University does not recognize degree certificates of Calicut University for admission to postgraduate courses.
