Shivpal Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav hold public meetings against each other

AGRA: The family feud of Yadav clan came out in the open in Firozabad on Sunday when stranged cousins Shivpal Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav held meetings on the same day in the district, denouncing each other.

Speaking on the occasion at Ramleela Maidan of Shikohabad, Shivpal announced to contest from Firozabad, represented by Ram Gopal's son Akshay, who is likely to contest again on SP ticket.

Shivpal said, “In Akhilesh regime, I worked sincerely and ensured better roads and bridge infrastructure network in the state. I even objected on all wrong doings including illegal encroachments and always supported leadership of ‘Neta ji’ (Mulayam Singh Yadav), but I was insulted for no reason.”

Taking dig at Ram Gopal Yadav and his son Akshay Yadav, Shivpal said, “To save Neta ji’s family from splitting into two, I sworn on my son to leave CM post for Akhilesh. I respected Neta ji’s words and firmly held SP flag, but at the end, I was thrown out from the party by corrupt.”

He said, “In Lucknow, some are spreading rumours that I got government bungalow with the help from BJP which is not true. I’m an MLA and I’m entitled to a government accommodation, hence I was allotted one. I urge all the voters across the country to throw out BJP from power and bring those party who believe in equality and peace.”

Meanwhile reacting to Shivpal’s announcement of contesting election from Firozabad, incumbent MP Akshay Yadav said, “Uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav is working for BJP and he has no vote base in Firozabad. This entire constituency belongs to Neta ji and real Samajwadi party and people will only vote for the cycle.”

Addressing a public gathering in Jasrana, SP national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav compared Shivpal to demon and said, “Akshay is going to defeat the demon in upcoming election. We are the real Samajwadi family and not the others.”
