City’s first water ATM inaugurated

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), in association with Sweden-based Josab Ecological Water Solutions, opened city’s first water ATM on Sunday. The water ATM has been established in front of KDK College, Nandanvan.
East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde dedicated the water ATM to public. Chairman of NMC city transport committee Bunty Kukde, leader of opposition in NMC Tanaji Wanve, city transport manager Shivaji Jagtap, vice-president of Josab Ecological Dinesh Reddy, corporators and NMC officials were present.
Kukde in association with Josab Ecological has planned to open four water ATMs last year.
Women SHG will be appointed to operate and maintain the water ATM. 50% of revenue will go to women SHG while remaining to the company. Water will be facilitated at Rs 1 for one glass, Rs 2 for a litre, Rs 5 per 10 litres and Rs 10 for 20 litres. The NMC will provide water free of cost upto water ATMs.
