Bhopal: A 30-year-old woman, who had filed a rape complaint against Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) leader of opposition Mohammad Sageer on Friday, withdrew it on Saturday. She told police that she is taking it back on insistence of her husband. Sageer has termed it a conspiracy against him.
He alleged that two BMC officials hatched the conspiracy against him as he had raised questions on appointment of one of them. According to MP Nagar police, the woman told that the accused after promising her a house under government scheme took her to an alienated place and raped her. She told police that he again raped her fifteen days ago when she asked for the house.
The woman then filed the complaint on Friday evening and then withdrew it on Saturday stating that her husband has insisted her for it. Sageer on the other hand said that he had ordered the BMC staff to bulldose her house as it was illegally built for which she wanted to settle score and she was fuelled by two BMC officials.
He alleged that BMC officials MP Singh against whom he had raised questions and was time and again raising his voice against him for his involvement in corruption- is behind the whole controversy. He also accused other officer Milind Dhoke for his role in attempt to malign his image.
Additional suprerintendent of police (ASP) Zone 2 Dinesh Kaushal said that the complaint was received and police took the woman to identify the spot. However, she failed to identify the spot and later she told us that she wants to withdraw the complaint. MP Nagar SHO Upendra Bhati said that the woman had earlier said that she was raped but later said that she wants to withdraw the complaint on insistence of her husband.
