AGRA: To keep a tab on cheating menace during Uttar Pradesh Board exams for high school and intermediate, the secondary education department has increased the number of flying squads.
As compared to the seven flying squads in 2018, this year nine squads will conduct surprise inspections at exam centers. The flying squad includes officers of the education department, principals and senior teachers. Besides a control room has been setup at the office of district inspector of schools (DIOS).

This year, the secondary education department has also changed the operations of the flying squad to ensure fair conduct of exams.

Till last year, the flying squads used to conduct inspections throughout the district as per the instructions of the senior officials. However, from this year onwards, different flying squads have been assigned specific areas for rapid movement from one exam center to another.

Confirming the move, Agra DIOS Ravindra Kumar said, “Nine flying squads have been assigned area-wise responsibility for fair conduct of exam at the total 184 exam centers in the district. Each flying squad will have five members, including one in-charge and two male and female members, who would be senior teachers. The flying squads have been directed to forward inspection report after each shift of the exam.”

“A control room has also been setup for the board exams. Here, four employees will be on duty for addressing complaints and any emergency situation. The control room number is 0562-2217504. It will start operating from February 5 onward,” the DIOS said.

While, the flying squad led by DIOS Ravindra Singh will cover all the exam centers in city areas, deputy director of the state government-run Sanskrit school Sandhya Yadav will also cover exam centers in city areas.
