I’ll announce the date for renovated Yadadri temple inauguration, says Chief Minister

Imagine 6, 000 voices of Vaishnava saints and their disciples unite in a yagna, while seers and pontiffs from 133 countries, the President, the Prime Minister, heads of States, and about 15 lakh devotees of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy are at one place to witness the grandeur of Yadadri.

“That will be the inauguration of the renovated Yadadri temple. There is no hurry, I will announce the date myself,” said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday.

Gopurams

Till now, the seven gopurams have been chiselled to perfection, works on the main temple and Shivalayam have reached completion, Alwar statues were erected, and dwarapalaka Anjaneya temple and mada streets have been completed.

“Let the project take its time, it is not an MRO’s building. The wonder will live on for the next 1,000-2,000 years,” said KCR, who is also chairman of the Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA).

Mr. Rao, who flew in here, spent about six hours, offering prayers, inspecting works and holding review with officials, before addressing mediapersons, at the heart of the 1,100-acre temple city here, for which he said the layouts were drawn.

Luxury cotttages

“Some 43 donors have come forward to contribute Rs. 2 crore for each luxury cottage here. We will prepare the modalities for all – ₹ 25 lakh worth cottages,” the Chief Minister said.

He said the Gandi cheruvu spread over 30 acres downhill, part of the 173 acres to be acquired, would be developed into temple tank for Teppotsavam (float festival) and ₹70 crore was being sanctioned for its land acquisition.

To cater to families and long-distance pilgrims, the radius of the temple would be developed to house hotels, well connected by six-lane ring roads, the Chief Minister said.

Local tourism

To tap local tourism, places like Bhongir Fort, Kolanupaka Jain temples and others would be linked in a circuit.

The Chief Minister said every aspect of temple construction was in accordance with the Agama Sastras, and as directed by Sri Vaishnava seer Tridandi Chinna Jeer Swamy.
