S. Rudre Gowda, MLC and president of BJP district unit, has called upon the party cadres to commence preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

He said at a meeting of the BJP district unit here on Saturday that the vast cadre base and strong organisational network are the strengths of BJP in Malnad region.

The onus is on the party workers to create awareness among the people on the programmes launched by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government in the Centre in the past five years and the schemes announced by the Centre in its interim budget of the year 2019-20 including direct income support scheme for farmers and the new pension scheme for workers in the unorganised sector.

Apart from door-to-door visits to apprise the voters on these schemes, the party activists should also use social media platforms for the purpose, he said. The social media platforms should also be used to apprise the youths on the ideologies of the BJP and attract them to the party fold prior to the election.
