NEW DELHI: The West Bengal government on Sunday did not allow chief minister Yogi Adityanath's helicopter to land in the state.

The UP CM office notified that the permission for the CM Adityanath's rally in West Bengal today had been declined by the West Bengal government without any prior notice.

Mritunjay Kumar, information advisor to CM Adityanath blamed West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

" Due to the popularity of UP CM, Mamata Banerjee did not give permission to land the helicopter," said Kumar.

The West Bengal government had earlier denied permission for the BJP president's chopper to land in Malda district where he eventually held a rally on Tuesday.

In its defence, the Malda district administration had stated that it was not possible to grant permission to land VVIP helicopters that week, owing to construction work.

The state authorities had eventually given permission for Shah's chopper to land just hours after BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya had alleged that the state chief minister was trying to obstruct Shah's rally that took place on January 23.
