NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Sunday inaugurated newly constructed garden at Darshan Colony in Nandanvan.
Deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, Saoner MLA Sunil Kedar, leader of opposition in NMC Tanaji Wanve, former ministers Gev Awari, Nitin Raut, Anees Ahmed and others were present.
Wanve said the garden could be developed due to consistent demand from local residents, and he pursued the project. “NMC took over the land from the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) for construction of school in 1985. The school was closed a few years ago. Since then, the area was lying abandoned. Walking track and other facilities have been developed in the garden,” he said.
