According to police, Satyasheel and Sandeep Pal were returning home around 12.10am after attending a wedding.
When they reached Rae Bareli road, they failed to see a tractor trolley which was parked in the middle of highway and crashed into it.
The head and rear lights of the tractor, which had developed a fault, were on but the bikers still couldn’t see it. The driver of the tractor fled after the incident.
The two sustained serious head and limb injuries. Passersby gathered at the spot and informed police.
SO Nigohan Jagdish Prasad Pandey said that the accident victims were rushed to Mohanlalganj community health centre where doctors declared them brought dead.
An FIR has been registered against the unknown tractor driver who had parked the vehicle in the middle of highway.

Additional suprintendent of police (traffic) R S Nim said that police have been making best efforts to ensure that bikers wear helmet but nothing would change until commuters themselves understand the need of following traffic rules.
“We are planning another drive in which policemen would be positioned on highways, where most accidents take place, and would check overspeeding and helmetless driving,” he added.
