Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brother Prahlad Modi on Sunday threatened to fight against the government in Lok Sabha polls this year if the demands of Fair Price Shops Dealers Association (FPSDA) are not met. Prahlad, who was in Rajpipla to attend a programme organized by FPSDA, said he will be meeting chief minister Vijay Rupani on Wednesday.

“We have been making demands since long but the government has turned deaf towards us. On February 6, we will discuss our demands with the chief minister and if the government is not positive then we will fight against it in 2019 Lok Sabha polls,” Prahlad, who is senior vice-president of All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation, said.

“I will meet the chief minister with two letters of thank you and an ultimatum. If our demands are met, I will give the letter of thanks and if not then I will give an ultimatum to the government,” he added. Prahlad also criticized a government official for cancelling ration cards of those who didn’t turn up to take their provision for three months. “The law says that such ration cards have to be suspended and if a card holder turns up after three months, the card can be reactivated again,” he said. Prahlad said it is not easy to take anything from Modi. “If someone has got anything from Narendra Modi, it is due to organization’s power,” Prahlad, who is an active BJP member, said.
