3 men kill auto driver for staring at them; held

Representative imageBENGALURU: Three men were arrested on charges of murdering an autorickshaw driver who allegedly stared at them. The killing happened on January 24 at NGEF Layout in Nagarabavi. R Raghu of Mallathahalli was stabbed to death outside a bar and CCTV footage had shown the three men, sitting at the next table, had attacked him around 11.40pm.
Sridhar alias Rowdy Sridhar alias Gorilla, J Manjesh and Venkatesh Kumar, residents of Chandra layout and surrounding areas, were nabbed by police.
"Manjesh had fought with Raghu in the bar, saying he had been staring at him. A little later, Raghu came to the cash counter to pay his bill and looked at Sridhar standing nearby. Sridhar asked him why he was staring at him. A fight broke out and all three accused attacked Raghu, stabbed him and fled," police said.
Police identified Sridhar in the CCTV footage. "He's facing more than 10 criminal cases. We identified Manjesh and traced him to his sister's house in KR Pet near Mysuru. We arrested the other two based on Manjesh's clues," police said.
