Australia v Sri Lanka Live: Another Sri Lankan felled at Manuka

Drinks

It's been a lively first hour at Manuka without any wickets. Perera has gone off for presumably a concussion test but his replacement Karunaratne has come in and looks comfortable after his nasty head knock yesterday. We're at 3-165 as Sri Lanka still trail by 369 runs.

He's off

Nope, three balls into Nathan Lyon's over Perera has decided to head to the change rooms. He's been replaced by Karunaratne who left the game for the same reason yesterday, he resumes on 46.

Concussion check?

Hang on, medical staff are back in the middle talking with Perera and the umpires, but after a long chat and a few checks he's decided to bat on.

That would not tickle

Another hit bouncer

Sri Lankan left-hander Kusal Perera has ducked into a steaming Jyhe Richardson bouncer. It has caught him flush on the grill and his helmet padding went flying. Perera is standing and talking to medical staff but play has been stopped for about four minutes now as he gets a new helmet. Not as scary as yesterday when Dimuth Karunaratne left on a stretcher following a Pat Cummins bouncer. He's since been cleared.

Chipping away

Sri Lanka have brought up 150 as they slowly chip away at Australia's mammoth first innings total. Perera and De Silva digging in to make sure Tim Paine thinks twice about enforcing the follow on.

Karunaratne has been spotted with his pads on, confirming he is fit and ready to return to the fray.

Tough road ahead

The West Indies just got a fair old cheer from the Manuka Oval crowd when the ground announcer mentioned they'd pumped England.

How many cheers will the Australian side extract today? Today provides a huge chance for Mitchell Starc to silence the naysayers while Pat Cummins has been the star of the summer so far.

We're back!

We are live from Manuka Oval on day three as Tim Paine's side go hunting for a series whitewash on a flat track in the capital.

Some good news out of the Sri Lankan camp this morning, with opener Dimuth Karunaratne cleared to bat with no signs of concussion after he was hit by a Pat Cummins bouncer yesterday.

Karunaratne retired hurt on 46 but he'll be back to steel Sri Lanka's bid for a draw - or an against the odds triumph.
