NOIDA: The Noida Authority has decided to hand over the ground floor of multi-level parking complex at Botanical Garden in Sector 38A for parking of buses—both roadways and private. Earlier, the space was allotted for shops. The floor will be handed over by March.
“The aim is to decongest the area, which faces daily traffic snarls. While more than 100 buses can be accommodated at the spot, 60% of it will be used for driveway for buses, lifts, escalators and toilets,” said Rajeev Tyagi, general manager, Noida Authority.
“The ground floor has nearly 25,000 sqm space, out of which 40% can be utilised for parking, which is nearly 10,000 sqm. The remaining 60% will be utilised to build curves for driveway, toilets, lifts and escalators,” said Hariom Yadav, junior engineer, Work Circle 2, Noida Authority.
While the parking charges are yet to be worked out, officials claimed that the space will be equipped with all modern facilities. “We have not yet done the costing, but the parking will have all the facilities like the one installed at DLF parking including display monitors indicating vacant space, etc.” said Tyagi.
The decision to give the parking space to buses, which was earlier dedicated for cars only, came following structural clearance from M/s Vastunidhi (architectural consultant), sought by Noida Authority.
The Botanical Garden parking facility having a capacity of 7,000 vehicles is being developed on a 2,30,186 sq m land adjoining the metro station. The Rs 573 crore project comprises lower basement, upper basement, 1st floor and 3rd to 6th floor for parking. The second floor will have shops and cafeteria apart from parking space, while the ground floor has now been fully allocated for parking of buses.
