Vadodara: Starting from Monday, M S University will host a two-day mega placement fair for young job aspirants, who will graduate this year.
Gujarat government had decided to organise 23 placement camps across Gujarat between January 28 and February 13.
In each camp, industries get an opportunity to interact with the students from higher and technical institutes of every district.
MSU is the nodal agency for organizing the placement fair for students of government and grant-in-aid colleges in and around Vadodara including neighbouring Chhota Udepur district.
The placement fair will be organized at the Maharaja Pratapsinhrao Gaekwad Parisar.
“Over 150 companies have evinced interest in participating and offering jobs to students of general streams like arts and commerce as well as those from technical streams like diploma holders,” said Dr B S Chakrabarty, nodal officer of the placement fair at MSU.
“So far, around 1,200 students from within MSU and 1,500 students from institutes other than MSU have registered for the camp. We are expecting the total turnout of students to cross 3,000 as we are continuously getting inquiries and we will be entertaining spot registrations as well,” he said.
On the first day of the placement fair, around 50 companies will be offering jobs to the students while another 100 companies will participate on the second dat of the fair.
“The total number of vacancies that are available with the industries comes to 3,100. The vacancies are at different levels in different firms,” he said.
The placement fair is restricted for students of final year who will pass out in 2018 and are enrolled in government or grant-in-aid colleges.
