'I've played more games than you, darl': Honey Badger vs Sevens queen

A good-natured exchange between former Wallaby Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins and injured Sevens star Charlotte Caslick took a cringeworthy turn midway through their pre-game preamble at the Sydney Sevens on Sunday.

Cummins took umbrage to a question from Caslick as they previewed Australia's rollicking quarter final clash with Fiji, which the Aussies lost 24-12, telling her "I reckon I've played more games than you darl".

Fox Sports presenter Louise Ransome had asked them for their thoughts on Australia's chances against the Olympic champions.

Caslick said Australia "seem to play really well against Fiji" before trying to include her counterpart Cummins in the conversation. She asked: "Have you ever been lucky enough to face off against Fiji?"

Cummins shot back: "Are you serious? I reckon I've played more games than you, darl."

The comment drew a nervous giggle from Ransome while Caslick tried to salvage the exchange.

"Can you tell us a little bit about it?" she probed hopefully. Cummins put an apologetic arm on Caslick's shoulder and said 'Nah, I wasn't geeing you up, I was just saying ..."

He added: "They've got banana hands out here. They can hold the ball, it's like a baseball. They can throw it around. [They are] big, strong, agile. It's best not to play them."

In the end the Aussies threw everything at the Fijians, opening the scoring and matching them try for try until the World Series leaders opened them up in the closing minutes to win 22-17, ending their run at Spotless Stadium.

For the record, Caslick is an Olympic gold medallist, Commonwealth Games silver medallist, former World Rugby women's sevens Player of the Year nominee and two-time World Series title holder.

In sevens, Cummins won Commonwealth Games silver in 2010, and was Australia's top try-scorer in the 2007 World Series. In XVs, he scored six tries for Australia across 15 Tests between 2012 and 2014.
