The 19th edition of The Hindu Young World Quiz will be conducted in the city on Saturday.
The venue is Sudhindra Auditorium, Canara Girls’ High School, Dongarakeri, Mangaluru.
The quiz is open to students from classes 7 to 10. It will begin with a written preliminary round at 2.30 p.m. and the top six teams will be chosen based on the marks they score for the on-stage final round of quizzing.
Any bona fide team from a school can participate in the event. Teams have to report at the venue by 1.30 p.m. Spot registration is allowed.
A team will consist of two members from the same school and the entry is free.
The Hindu’s quiz master V.V. Ramanan will conduct the quiz.
Teams from several schools in Mangaluru, Moodbidri and Udupi have already registered for the competition.
An integral part of The Hindu in School (THiS) programme, The Hindu Young World Quiz is being held across 17 cities.
Participants and the audience will have an opportunity to win gifts and goodies.
The winners of the competition will receive a trophy, bicycles gifts and certificate.
The first and second runners-up will receive trophies and certificates.
All participants will receive a goodie bag and a certificate.
