ALLAHABAD: Kinnar Akhara chief Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi on Friday said the akhara was committed to construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and would launch a ‘satyagraha’ if steps were not taken in this connection.
“Hundreds of Kinnar Akhara members want Ram temple to be built at Ayodhya. We would be forced to launch a peaceful ‘satyagrah’ if measures are not taken for an early construction of the temple. Once the Kumbh is over, we would chalk out an action plan in this connection.”
“I would also write to the President, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of India for an early disposal of Ram temple dispute case,” she told TOI.
“It is shameful for all of us that Lord Ram is still living under a small tent. When people want to see Ram temple in Ayodhya, they should come forward,” added Tripathi.
She also made it clear that “Kinnar Akhara doesn’t support any political party or organisation and has nothing to do with Dharam Sansad”.
“If people of different walks of life want to see Ram temple to be built at Ayodhya, they should come on a common platform,” said Tripathi adding, “Ram temple is an issue of faith also for kinnars as we too are followers of Sanatan dharma.”
