CHHAPRA: Police have arrested a girl on charges of faking her own kidnapping. The girl had gone missing from Amnour in Saran district on Tuesday. The police have also recovered a blood stained sweater, a bicycle and a pair of shoes from the girl.
The girl, an Intermediate student, did not return after leaving home to attend coaching class. Her father had lodged an FIR with Amnour police station against four people – Pintu Tiwari, Bitu Tiwari, Bhuwan Rai and Guddu Rai – accusing them of kidnapping his daughter.
Saran SP Har Kishore Rai on Friday said the story was fabricated by the girl who had an affair with a boy. “Forensic science laboratory (FSL) experts from Patna have expressed doubt over the blood stains found on the girl’s sweater. According to them, the red mark appeared to be the extracts of mehendi,” the SP said.
He said the girl planned to elope with her boyfriend, who lives in Patna. She went to the house of one Renu Devi, wife of Sanjai Kumar Gaurav, a resident of Ram Chandra Pur under the Laheri police station area in Nalanda district and requested her to allow her to stay there for 3-4 days. Renu was known to her owing to her self-help group connections.
The SP said the girl’s father had falsely named four people in the FIR with whom he had a land dispute.
