Fire crews fought a major farm fire in Denbighshire for four hours.

Crews from Rhyl, Prestatyn, Denbigh and Abergele were called to a barn fire in Trefnant, at 1:29pm.

The fire is thought to have affected around 20 one ton straw and hay bales.

Crews set up a portable pump to tackle the fire and worked with the farmer to turn over the straw affected by fire in the barn.

Two crews were still at the scene at 5pm.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an agricultural fire this afternoon.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
