Deputy Commissioner Vinoth Priya has said that officers concerned have been instructed to make necessary preparations for providing CET, NEET and JEE entrance tests coaching to poor students in the district.

Speaking to district-level officers here on Friday, she said that rural students in the district need suitable training to get through these examinations. Coaching in private institutes is costly, hence the plans to provide it to the rural students.

The DDPU at the district-level will be the nodal officer and at the taluk-level, the principal of the pre-university college will be the nodal officer.

Eligible students and retired professors interested in providing coaching should register with principals of government PU colleges, she added.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ravindra said that the funds used for felicitating merit students can be donated to non-government organisations to provide training for students of rural areas.
