Silk Road is an adaptation of a 2018 novel of the same name written by E Mapache and credits Pradeep Katasani for its story. The makers initially intended Silk Road to be a series but later felt it would lend itself to a feature film. The thriller traces the journey of an Indian student who struggles to make ends meet in the US and chances upon high-end LSD that’s worth millions of dollars. He hopes to sell it through the dark web but soon, a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent is hot on his trail.

Pradeep Katasani has worked as a production manager, editor, writer and casting director before producing and directing shorts and independent films; he is based in Los Angeles.
