President Donald Trump is the latest chief executive to deliver a State of the Union address during a time of national turmoil, though others may have had it worse.

Abraham Lincoln had the Civil War, Richard Nixon had Watergate and Bill Clinton was impeached.

Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley says Tuesday's speech will be a "high-drama moment" for Trump.

There's the federal investigation into Trump campaign contacts with Russia and calls for him to be removed from office. Trump has threatened to again close parts of the government if Congress refuses to pay for his long-promised U.S.-Mexico border wall.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi added to the drama by forcing Trump to move the speech to Tuesday because of the original government shutdown.

Trump had been scheduled to speak on Jan. 29.
