Indore: Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, which runs a rented centre from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV)’s Thakshila campus, would now construct its own centre on the DAVV premises. The Bhoj University would take land on lease from DAVV on Thakshila campus and spent Rs 1 crore on construction of centre.
DAVV vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad and Bhoj University vice chancellor Dr Jayant Sonwalkar verbally agreed on the proposal and said that soon they would ink MoU. Sonwalkar said that the Bhoj University has decided to constructs is own centre in some select cities and Indore is among them.
“At present, we run a centre from a small portion of IMS building on Thakshila campus. We want our own separate building so proposed to setup centre in front of School of Economics. The DAVV VC accepted the proposal,” he said. Meanwhile, Dhakad informed Sonwalkar that Bhoj University has not been paying rent for the space allocated on rent for its centre in IMS building. Dhakad said that the monthly rent of the space given to the centre is Rs10,000 per month. To this, Sonwalkar said that the DAVV should sent bill to us and they would make payment immediately.
