The interim budget 2019 presented by finance minister Piyush Goyal gives a lot of joy to salaried personnel and farmers, among others. The changes that interim budget bring include increase in standard deduction for salaried taxpayers from 40 to 50 thousand rupees. Salaried taxpayer earning taxable income up to Rs 5 lakh will get full tax rebate. Some other benefits include no notional rental income, tax exemption on long-term capital gain, increase in threshold for TDS on interest income and increase in threshold for TDS on rent paid by any person.
