Woman injured in accident dies in hosp
tnn | Feb 2, 2019, 23:51 ISTThiruvananthapuram: A 60-year-old woman, who had been undergoing treatment after meeting with a road accident five days ago, died on Saturday. Leela, a resident of Pottavila near Pulinkudy under Vizhinjam police station limits, is the deceased.
According to police, the accident took place on January 27. She was knocked down by a speeding motorcycle near Pulinkudy Junction.
She sustained multiple injuries and fractures on both legs, part from head injury. She was admitted to Medical College Hospital.
Police had initially registered a case on rash and negligent driving. Following Leela’s death, the section on the FIR would be altered to ‘causing death due to negligence’. The person, who was riding the motorcycle would be summoned and his arrest would be recorded, cops said.
Leela leaves behind daughter Sheeja.
