A day after a mother-daughter duo, identified as Tehseen Hussain (32) and daughter Aaliya (2), was found brutally murdered in a half-burnt state at their Mahim residence, police have arrested Tehseen's husband Ilyas Syed Hussain and his paramour identified as Afreen Hussain (22). According to the police, Ilyas and Afreen are first cousins and they both were in an illicit relationship for a few months which led to domestic trouble between the couple.
Sources claim that Iliyas had also demanded a divorce from Tehseen but she refused to comply as the couple had two young daughters.
The accused duo was arrested on Friday and booked under Indian Penal Code section 302 and destroying evidence, section 201. They would be produced in a local magistrate court on Saturday.
