Leeds target will be 'DEVASTATED' by failed transfer - Swansea slammed by club legend
LEEDS UNITED transfer target Daniel James will be 'devastated' that his Swansea exit fell through, according to Whites legend Noel Whelan.
The 21-year-old passed a medical on Thursday afternoon and was sat at Elland Road waiting to be unveiled - but the Swans refused to sign off on the deal.
It is thought that the Welsh side had a late change of heart and they will now try to get him to sign a new contract at the Liberty Stadium.
It appeared a deal was in place after Leeds targeted the once-capped star Wales international and the player made it known he was eager to make the move.
But after Swansea appeared to pull the plug on the deal, Whelan believes the player will devastated.
“He must be absolutely devastated by what’s happened”

“I feel sorry for him. Before last night I thought the deal would be done and dusted, and woke up this morning and saw the news," he told Radio Yorkshire.
“He must be absolutely devastated by what’s happened.
"Really, really bad business by Swansea, I mean, you just can’t do that.
"I'm sure he's going to go back there and be professional, you can understand his agent's fury, I just feel sorry for the player because it's an awful, awful, awful situation to be in."
Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani tweeted this week: “I am very disappointed like all of @LUFC fans, we did all we could and accepted all request.
“But you always need two parties to agree to make a deal and we always had one single target player, none else.
"We move on and keep fighting in our next 17 finals."
Marcelo Bielsa was keen to get bodies in before Thursday's 11pm deadline.
