The police said Mohammed Yusuf was a resident of Pratappur village. Yusuf, who had been shot from close range, had been lying on roadside for close to an hour.
When he was taken to Sadar hospital, he was declared brought dead. Yusuf, who ran a cafe at Siwan, is said to be very close to convicted and jailed MP’s son Osama. Yusuf was also involved in property business.
“The first priority of the police was to maintain law and order. There had been immediate protests after Yusuf’s killing. Extra police forces have been deployed at Siwan town, ” Siwan SP Navin Chandra Jha said.
The police are yet to ascertain the motive.
