PUNE: The Pune city traffic police released a series of videos on traffic awareness, which will be posted on their social media channels during the Road Safety Week starting from February 4.

These videos were screened at the Maharashtra Mandal auditorium on Saturday for members of the press.

NGOs working in traffic-related sectors and officials of the Pune Police Traffic Department were present at the screening.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tejaswi Satpute said, “These videos are an effort to educate people and make them aware about traffic rules as a lot of lives can be saved if we follow these rules.”

Dr Raghav Barve, Orthopaedic, said during the event, “I get a lot of young patients with complicated cases of injuries in road accidents. It is disheartening. Hence, if we follow traffic rules, a lot of fatal road accidents can be avoided and many lives can be saved.”
